King George VI Half Crown coin. A popular design with the olden day ‘hobo nickel’ creators was to engrave the monarch or president on the coin into a skeleton. Although I don’t use an old sharpened nail like the original creators would of done, I do use entirely hand pushed, powerless gravers. Each piece is then carefully cut around to make the design really stand out. This piece is made from a post-1947 cupronickel half crown and comes on a black polyester cord made from recycled bottles.
