Some of the most popular pieces of trench art besides lighters to come out of the trenches of WW1 were little pots made from coins and bullet shells.
My version has done away with bullet shells and has been made entirely from coins, five vintage pennies. The base of the pot is flattened, polished, and textured with coins and the hinge and clasp on the pot are made from brass. The edges of this unique and unusual pot still show the coin details and history, making this a lovely little curio no matter what treasures you keep inside.
The artwork in the lid is created out of a farthing wren and a mix of recycled silver, and feature a wren and fairy in the snow under a full moon.
These pots are all handmade and range in size slightly from one to the other. A rough size is 40mm by 35mm inside and about 15mm hight.
This piece is not jewellery but an ornament/collectible and a functional pot. It comes in a cotton pouch.
