The Silver Mushroom Fields

Here we find ourselves far to the east of the town of Oathill and Kinsfolk. Over the River Bridge, and to the south of the Toro Woods, in the magical and mysterious, Silver Mushroom Fields. The fairies dance while the moon shines and gives the silver fungi their magic abilities. These designs always get a lot of attention on my stall and in the shops I stock. Partly because they do not look as if they are made from recycled coins, but also because of the amount of history they have as coins when you look on the back of the pieces.
This piece has been handmade and upcycled from three pre-1920 silver florins. The coins were so worn that collectors didn’t want them, but they are perfect for me. The reverse of the piece is a complete florin with little stars cut into it. With the reverse being unflattened it still has all the coin detail and all that lovely history on show.

The piece comes boxed and on an 18inch silver (.925) chain.*This little 3d scene is 28mm across and handmade using traditional hand tools.
