Pawpaw’s Wish

It was a cold, crisp, and fresh November night in the Oathill Valley, and as such it was time for Pawpaw to start getting ready for bed.
‘Just a quick power nap of about 7 months should do the trick,’ the great bear said to itself as a massive yawn escaped its maw.
All of Pawpaws affairs were in order, not that bears have a lot of affairs to put in order. The valley, the animals within it, and the humans in the town of Oathill And Kinsfolk were now entrusted entirely to the watchful eye of Julia Owl. Pawpaw had one last thing to do, a tradition of sorts. To sit, stare, and to reflect.
Julia Owl had once said that the shining fay in the night sky were always dancing, zipping and moving. But being mischievous, as fay are known to be, they would stop and freeze as soon as you look at them. If you ever caught one at its little game and saw it move, it would have to grant you your wish. Pawpaw had caught one every year the night before hibernating, and Pawpaw had a good feeling about this cold, crisp November night.

The coins used in this piece are three sterling silver florins (pre-1920). The top and middle layers have been flattened out and then cut and engraved with traditional hand tools. The reverse of the piece is a complete florin with little stars cut into it. With the reverse being unflattened it still has all the coin detail and all that lovely history on show. The piece comes boxed and on an 18inch silver (.925) chain.
