Going Down The Rabbit Hole.

A journey through a fantasy land in one little curiosity box. We join Alice on the front of the locket as she starts her adventure, follow her down the rabbit hole with the second artwork in the lid, and eventually finish with a tea party on the third artwork inside with just enough room behind to hide away a lucky sixpence, photo, or little note.
The culmination of over a weeks work, several days more designing, months of planning and many prototypes. Handmade from recycled sterling silver coins using traditional hand tools. The first job with a piece like this is to flatten out the coins to give a larger area. After that the silver is textured with old coin like shillings, sixpences and florins. This texture gives the locket a really interesting, one of a kind look. After making the locket (a job in itself), I’ve added three hand engraved artworks and my OAK leaf signature to the back. Something you can’t tell from photos alone, if you give the little Alice inside a flick she spins as she is falling down the rabbit hole, giving a little bit more added uniqueness to the piece. The locket comes on your choice of black polyester cord or silver chain (charged at cost). However, thanks to the hinged rings at the top of the box, this piece is equally nice as a little curiosity box and ornament without a chain or cord.

*Please note that this piece takes a long time to make and I make all orders in the order they are received. It is very unlikely you will receive this order within the usual two weeks that I regularly  quote. Please contact me via the contact page if you would like more info.
